Spring feelings – Cultural Week ‘Schenner Langes’
When the Schenna music band do one of their Spring concerts or while the Schenna Folk Theatre Group make you laugh, the ‘Schenner Langes’ as well as the typical tiredness you feel in Spring don’t have a chance. The traditional cultural week consists of delicacies, fun and music, while at the same time it is the start of a very varied programme into the rest of the year.
April to October / 3rd Thursday of each month
Traditional Schennaberg: "Berger Pfinstig"
From this season on, what is "Tallner Sunday" to the guesthouses in the Hirzer region is "Berger Pfinstig" to the huts, restaurants and rustic taverns at Schennaberg. "Pfinstig" is the ancient word for Thursday, which is still used today by many people. On this day, old and young hikers alike can look forward to accordion or folk's music, traditional farmer's dishes, and a varied children's programme. The event will take place every third Thursday of the month from April to October in the hiking area between Verdins and Meran 2000.

Every Sunday – Alpine culture at the ‘Tallner Sunntig’
At the ‘Tallner Sunntig’ (Sunday in Tall), it isn’t only the Alpine plants, which are in flower. The 16 mountain pubs, Alpine and mountain huts in the Hirz hiking region have prepared a special menu for their guests. In addition, there is lots of music and other entertainment, as well as some theatrical delicacies on offer. On a typical ‘Tallner Sunntig‘, the Hirzer and Verdins cable-car railways, as well as the Grube chair list offer some price reductions.

Genial vertikal: „V. Internationaler Berglauf Meran 2000“
About 1,700 metres in altitude has to be conquered at the ‘International Mountain Run Meran 2000’ before you reach the finish line at the Piffinger Kopfl. Looking back from the finishing line to the starting point at Meran’s Passer Promenade, you realise that this run is a true achievement! It is not without purpose that this event greets so many international participants and that it is one of the Grand Prix of mountain run tournaments.

Experience the south – ‘A Summer Evening’ in Schenna
The ‘Summer Evenings’ in Schenna are known to be live music events with modern and traditional bands, exquisite delicacies from South Tyrolean cuisine and even – shopping! Schenna’s shops are open until 9.30 p.m.

A week-end of fantasy: ‘Asfaltart’ in Meran
During the month of June, Meran turns into a circus. Clowns, aerial acrobats, jugglers and pantomimes rule this spa and garden town throughout an entire week-end. Music entertainment and avantguard theatre crown this incredibly varied programme.

Colourful holidays: ‘Sunny’s children’s programme’
In Schenna, the sun shines about 300 days a year. Little Sunny makes sure that small guests in the village are always entertained. Together with the Schenna Tourist Board, Sunny offers a very colourful programme: children’s rafting, treasure hunt in the woods, red Indian games, horse riding, a visit to the fire station and a farm … to mention only a few.

Mountains in chrome: 25 years of Oldtimer Rally ‘South Tyrolean Classic’
The South Tyrolean Classic is a must for all Oldtimer fans. This year, the event takes place for the 25th time. This ‘Rally of Sympathy‘ enchants everyone, along with the breath-taking panoramic views, the service and the wonderful cuisine. However, it’s not only the participants who enjoy this international event. Every morning and evening, the village centre turns into a backdrop for all kinds of brilliant chromes and beautiful classic vehicles. Of course, our holiday guests are right in the middle of it!

A village in motion. ‘Autumn Festival of the Schützen‘, with great festive parade.
The highlight of the traditional ‘Autumn Festival of the Schützen‘ in Schenna is the traditional parade on Sunday. The wonderfully decorated wagons, costume groups and music bands enchant the locals and holidaymakers alike. Besides lots of music and fun, we also offer great South Tyrolean dishes. The festival starts on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Sunday event begins at 10 a.m. with a traditional glass of wine.

Formula One of horses. The ‘Grand Prix of Meran‘.
That the South Tyrolean population loves horses can easily be seen in the numerous Hafling meadows all around the country. Horse races in South Tyrol are a truly special and wonderfully unpretentious experience. The ‘Grand Prix of Meran’ is the highlight of the racing season and takes place at the race course in Untermais.

Farmers’ wives pull all the strings! Torggelen and ‘Schenner Bauernkuchl‘
Torggelen is an old tradition, which is loved by locals and holidaymakers alike. After a comfortable hiking trip through the Autumn landscape, you can enjoy some new wine and solid farming dishes inside the unique old-fashioned pubs and wine cellars around the Schenna area. During the ‘Bauernkuchl‘, Schenna turns into one large courtyard kitchen. In the village centre, the farmers’ wives of Schenna enchant their visitors with home-made specialities such as Tyrolean knodle, rips on kraut and sweet doughnuts. Autumn entertainment with festive character! And lots of music, of course.

If you want to see the extensive variety of South Tyrolean costumes and music bands, you must come to the colourful Federal Music Festival in Meran! The extensively decorated wagons, groups and music band formations are a feast to the eyes. A true experience – particularly if the marching music is not part of your CD collection at home.
